It was time to update the look of the site a little bit. I tried some orange colors for a day, but they were hard for me to read, so Ily and I came up with what you see now. The new top banner and standard blue links are much better, if I do say so myself.

I’ve seen these head-only pictures other places around the web and the idea came to me last night that I should do that. I found a Gimp tutorial that made it pretty easy to do. Reece’s head was done first, and Ily liked it a lot. That got her involved and she helped with the rest, like picking out pictures, suggesting the background color, and choosing the font. It was a great husband and wife artistic bonding experience. I highly recommend it.

Please comment and tell us what you think. The banner started to remind us of a certain TV show once we got into it. If you can guess I’ll give you 10 bonus points.

Love the new look! It gives your site such personality! We can't wait to see you in a few weeks.

This pix remind me of The Monkees or the Brady Bunch.

Are the shadows part of the original images or did you add them in later? And they look great using firefox on Debian, and firefox on windoze too.

The pics remind me of "Floating Head Doctor" on Scrubs. Did I win???

What are the points used for? Or is it like "Whose Line is it anyway" where everything is made up and the points don't matter?

10 points for mona!!! We were thinking Brady Bunch, kinda like this:

Nolan, sorry buddy. Scrubs? Whose Line is it Anyway? You watch too much TV, bro. Or maybe just too much modern TV... :-)

Nolan,

The shadows are added. I should write up a whole tutorial up on how I did it, but with the gimp you can use the drop-down menus and do Script-Fu->Shadow->Drop Shadow to get a shadow like that. Good eye for noticing the shadows. I'll give you 10 points for that ;-)

Whose Line it is anyways is a great improv comedy show. I watched it mostly at the Y...

Scrubs is a funny show about some young doctors... Truthfully I don't watch that much tv these days. There is one pretty cool show on Discovery called Man vs. Wild. You should check it out!

Dude, I just checked out your Brady Bunch link, and they don't look that much like your photos. Here is a link to floating head doctor, he looks almost EXACTLY like your photos! (warning it is a youtube link)

I just noticed a feature of your floating head pics. Truthfully I don't know if it has been there from the beginning or it was recently added. But when you move your mouse over them they change to a different picture! I like it!

Good eye, Nolan. That was added last Friday.
