I finished the laundry room, or at least as much as I am going to do this year. I have painted, installed shelving along one wall and actually gotten a new washer and dryer! They are a front loading set and they are really quiet. I am almost embarrassed to say that we have all squeezed in there just to watch each load wash! It really is cool to watch though.
UPDATE: There are now pictures of the laundry room.

I can tell I’m getting older because I can’t sleep in on Saturdays anymore. I woke up early today and it wasn’t because one of the kids woke me up. Everyone was still asleep. It wasn’t raining, so I decided to go for a bike ride. It was very cold an foggy though. It was the kind of damp cold that chills you to the bone. Yes, I would even say that my bones are still not quite back up to normal temperature. I still had fun and got some good exercise. Check out the trail I rode on.

In case you haven’t heard, it rains a lot here in the Great Northwest. In fact, November is usually the rainiest month of all here. The monthly average is about 6 inches of rain. On November 7th this year we had already had about 6.5 inches of rain. Usually we get these kind of mild misty rains, but this month has been nearly all downpours.
We haven’t really seen any problems because of it, but I’ve seen pictures of Highway 35 (the road Mt. Hood Meadows ski resort is on) washed out by a few creeks that decided to change course. Needless to say, they will be delayed in opening this ski season. Today a friend at work showed me a website that has pictures of the damage on Mt. Rainier.
Crazy stuff. I was sad to see the Ohanapecosh campground amongst the pictures. It’s always been a family favorite.

Ok, so I get a little crazy occasionally and try to take on huge projects around the house. Most of the time they actually work out too.
So the latest crazy project I took on was to paint the laundry room. Now our laundry room was a mess. it was a stack of miss-matched cubby-holes with lots of things stuffed in and a utility shelf with who knows how many bottles of household cleansers. It looked messy, and felt messy. And the walls behind it all were very dingy, with holes even for the previous shelves that fell down (correction- Bryan pulled them down on accident he claims). So it was a mess and I got this grand master plan idea to mount all new shelves up (that are uniform in look so it won’t be so hodgepodge) and turn it into a decent looking, uncrowded, clean and useable room.
I am not done with the whole master plan yet, but I have now completed painting the room. What a job! I think it took me 3 days to get just that part done. FYI- we used the left-over white-ish paint from Bryan’s parents’ basement project. When they refinished their basement a few years ago, they went to buy paint and the paint store told them they needed something like 3 or 4 buckets of paint. Each bucket holds five gallons of paint. I don’t think they even used up one bucket. And then they didn’t even like the color once they put it on the walls! It looked too pink in their house. We have successfully used up one of the buckets of paint for them now in our home and the color seems to be a little more agreeable looking in our house. Our vaulted entry and now our laundry are now clothed in that paint. We still have one bucket left here, so I can bet I will be painting more of our house that color.
Once I finish the room, I will post pictures. Hopefully, I will get it done before the kids graduate from college.

I posted the rest of our October photos. The 4 month-old Reece pictures are there, along with a couple zoo pictures, some cakes, some other cute Reece pictures, Isaac and Micah in their Halloween costumes, and their pumpkins.
Halloween was fun this year. The boys wanted to be cowboys. They already had some cowboy clothing and nice cowboy hats from Ily’s grandparents. Ily found some cowboy boots and Payless Shoes. A little painted on facial hair and they were ready for the old west.
The HP trick-or-treat was great, as usual. Reece got a little tired of it after a while, but he doesn’t mind a bottle every now and then, so we were able to make it all the way through my building and through the picture line. We had the ward Halloween party right after the HP trick-or-treat. Micah was pretty much done before that ever started, I held him most of the time. We didn’t even see Isaac after the first few minutes of the party. We assume he had fun running around with his church friends. He’s getting so grown-up and independent. *sniff *
On actual Halloween night we were invited to a little Halloween party at our friends’ neighbor’s house. We got some food their and then went back home to trick-or-treat a bit. It was cold and windy, so after hitting about three houses on our street Micah wanted to go home. Isaac and I (Ily was home feeding Reece) talked him into doing a few more. Then they had just as much fun handing out candy (and eating it) to those who came to our house as they did trick-or-treating.
And today Isaac pointed out to me that next month is the month when Christmas happens. He’s a smart one, that boy.
